Hello everyone.. just being alive in these troubled times.. sometimes seems so weird and obscure, and difficult. We’re all in the same boat. Just remember that.
You are not alone. Be kind to yourself, and to others.
Mind your nervous systems. Don’t waste time, if you can help it. Wasting time is doing things like worrying and avoiding what you want to do. Just do it.
What’s not wasting time is giving your body what it needs, such as sleep and rest.. and vegetables and water. And pastimes which help to regulate us, such as reading, walking, knitting, meditating, playing games..
If you are reading this, understand you are amongst the very privileged on the planet, me included. Even if we are struggling in our own ways, if we are grieving, or facing extraordinary circumstances, if we have access to the internet and an electronic device, it’s very likely we are in the highest peaks of the food chain. There’s responsibility in it, and one of those responsibilities is to feel grateful for it, and be continuously on the lookout for ways to close gaps in wealth distribution and to help others.
Like me, I am sure you are doing all this. Helping others, being a good person. Sometimes or more often than that, defending, standing for, and actually physically involved in helping our loved ones, or other folks, or targeted folx and marginalized groups of people, while listening and learning how to be a better human. We’re all doing it, in small and large ways.
While moving forward and toward something that feels better. Which is the right thing to do.
It’s a lot in these troubled times.. and we’re all doing the best we can.
Chin up. Make your lists, your goals, your art or whatever hobby makes your heart sing, and carry on.. Continue with being grateful for the little things, and celebrate the heck out of the big things.
And cherish each and every connection you make, with your loved ones, and sprinkle generously that love dust of yours.. and notice as you scatter, all the love dust that touches you.
Love. ❤️
Okay.. and with that.. here’s the newest creation, a little scarf made from lovely, soft cotton and 35% wool, so that it is beautiful and warm as well. In a dusty rose mousse. It’s in Knitting for Olive Cotton Merino, less than one skein, in Kate Jackson’s Horizon Scarf design.
